Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegaard, the astronomer who had given the wrong information, had already apologized for his mistake. Early last week, he had told the residents of Reisadalen that a meteorite of the same size, as what struck this county last week, could give them an explosion similar to that of an atomic bomb upon impact. The astronomers of the Northern Lights Observatory have dismissed this as an actual exaggeration. They believe that every once in a while we get those chunks. But often than not, they slow down upon entering our planet's atmosphere, or burn up altogether.
