Finnish food is very delicious, but one of my favorites is the Bishop's Pepper Cookies. Its taste is very different from most baked goodies I have ever eaten. The cookies have a very distinct taste and I love it. That is the reason why I searched for the
delicious recipe and baked it myself. Now, I want to share my wonderful discovery with everybody.
To bake Bishop's Pepper cookies, the ingredients you will need are:
-Two-and-a-half cups of flour
-One teaspoon of baking soda
-One teaspoon of ground cardamom
-One teaspoon of ground cinnamon
-One teaspoon of ground allspice
-One-fourth teaspoon of
-One teaspoon of ground ginger
-One-fourth teaspoon of salt
-One-fourth almonds, finely chopped
-One large egg, beaten lightly
-A cup of sugar
-Half a cup of corn syrup, dark
-A cup of melted butter, unsalted
In a bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, allspice, salt, baking soda, ginger, and cardamom before you set it aside. Then, prepare baking sheets by lining it with Silpats or stick-free baking mats of the French. Get another mixing bowl and combine the corn syrup, egg, and sugar. Mix the batter well before you add the almonds and butter. While continuously mixing it, add the spices and also the flour in increments. When the dough is well-mixed and hard, stick it in the refrigerator for about two hours.
While waiting for your dough to cool, heat the oven to a hot temperature of 375 degrees. Get the dough and roll it until its thickness is one-fourth inches. Cut it into any shapes you want and put them on the sheets. Bake it in your
hi-tech oven machine for about seven to ten minutes and serve.
