bread types in a typical Norwegian household. Wheat is the key ingredient for making the breads, and the peoples of Norway, over the years, have already developed lots of recipes and flavors for their favorite food.
The most common bread is made from whole wheat or the Grovbrod. It is brown in color and contains many grains. On the other hand, the Fullkornbrod contains whole grains of wheat. They also have a white bread or commonly called the Loff. The white round bread made with poppy seeds is called Froloff. Among the favorite are the rolls or Rundstykker. They have their own version on
French bread and they call it Baguette. If you like croissants, Norwegians will give you the Horn.
Whether for
breakfast or food for coffee breaks, the Norwegians really have pleasure eating bread. Aside from having different flavors and shapes, the breads are sure healthful to eat since they are made with wheat. However, they also have sweet breads that are a favorite among children. The sweet roll is called the Boller, while the ones with raisins are called the Rosinbolle. The peculiar looking Skolebrod is topped with egg yolk with sugar and coconut. They also have a cinnamon bread called Skillingsbolle.
History has it that the art of cartography began during the Stone Age. It is safe to say that on that era, maps are literally sketched on rock walls or caves. Such technique allowed the aborigines to have concrete references for their city maps. Thank
