What's great about the hotel is its continuous sensible price listings. Also its accommodation service fees are way too cheap for a four star hotel facility. Imagine you have a reservation in one finest hotel in Denmark and the price you will pay is very low or minimal compared to the price range of other four star Copenhagen hotels.

If you think continuous alcohol-induced intoxicated days are more thrilling than a trip to hell, then get on that damn plane and spend a week in Sweden at the exact time for the Stockholm Beer Festival! I think you should pack your bags, lots of cash, and a shitload of aspirin! Don't forget your handy handheld computer, for it would surely keep you company while you're on the plane straight to Sweden. I think you'd be needing it, my friend, especially for those dry-throat hours you'd be spending on the plane, thinking of all the beer you could drink!
But, I don't think you'd be witnessing a beer festival once you're there! This is because this most loved beer festival in Scandinavia isn't only about beer, my friend! It's about being "alcoholically induced" through any means possible! That's right, 'cause in this beer festival, they serve all kinds of intoxicating substances. Well, just the legal substances in liquid form which has alcoholic content, I guess. Now wouldn't those aspirins come in handy? I think you could use it once you're over the ale-appreciation portion of the festival! Scandinavian ale? As damn strong as barbiturates! I think it would be best for you to go and check on that liver of yours before you take this trip to Sweden!

Travel has indeed changed my perception. Upon going through most areas in the European region, I find myself amused in how the people in Scandinavia see the taxes they are being made to pay up. You see, a Dutch person would tell you bluntly that it is better to take and pay huge amount of taxes and reside in a place wherein there is bountiful food, education, health care, fast internet connections, and basic necessities in life for all than a place where you don't break your back paying taxes yet hourly see a hungry family sleeping in one of the benches of a nearby park. We Americans are supposedly the wealthiest human beings, yet we are not the people who have total freedom in everything we do. We vote for a president which could make us even wealthier, but the countries in Scandinavia make it a point to keep the government within the grasp of people themselves.
This is how I view the current recreational drug laws and provisions being made in Scandinavia. Marijuana, heroin, and cocaine addiction are perceived as the same addiction people all over the world experience with alcohol and cigarette use. With this viewpoint, recreational drug use are regulated for the maximum safety of all the people within Scandinavia. It is of utmost importance why we should value the acceptance of more and more alternative lifestyles. If not, then we are condemned to build more and more prisons than schools, parks, or hospitals. Locke seems to hold the ideals of each and every American, but it is Rousseau's set of principles which govern each and every Scandinavian's outlook in life and governance.

Scandinavia has long welcomed the world with its tourists. Traveling to a Scandinavian turf, you may actually want to settle in a chalet where you'll most certainly feel at home with Scandinavian architectural spectacles.
Mostly, chalets are leased on a weekly basis. There are also a variety of chalet structures you may wanna choose from. They are usually featured in foreign catalogues. However, most companies have also entertained inquiries on line where they give explicit views and assistance to prospect sojourners. Still it is not advised to book or rent on line since prices are charged in Euro, which makes it more expensive.
With Scandinavian Holidays, they will help you not only make the right choice in booking for your stay, they might as well arrange reservations for car ferry, lodging and other privileges you may want to avail. In short, their service will depend on your needs and specifications, tailored to your preferences. They will help you settle in a fine Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian or Danish chalets and cabins.

Right after I watched the Origins Of The Da Vinci Code, I immediately got interested on the featured round churches in the short film. The churches are located in Denmark, and are regarded as Templar churches. Maybe, you will find this a bit odd, but the churches actually play a major role in the Danish history.
A thousand miles from Rennes Le Chateau, Bornholm, an island near the Baltic Sea, features four of the haunted, ancient, and sacred round churches ever built in history. Built during the medieval era, the churches served military functions. Each of them has arrow-slits where soldiers can spy on the enemies. But, later, roofs were placed above the church towers. From afar, they may look real ridiculous. I mean, it is very unusual to build a round church.
Again, the locations of the said churches were delicately chosen to serve their purposes. Before anything, I would like to tell you, my dear readers, that I certainly believe in the explanation in the CD. Firstly, should one care to look for the churches in the map, a pentacle could be drawn out of them. Secondly, the summer solstice can be observed from the top of the church. Lastly, the rays passing through the slits could be read as the points in a clock, thus exact time could be determined. Remember, they were built in a time when measuring instruments nor devices for astrology were still unavailable. I cannot help but admire the genius of the builders and designers of the churches.

Contrary to what other people think, there are a number of beautiful things to view in Norway. The European country is not only covered with snow; the beautiful place is also gifted with high mountains, greeneries, and other beauties of nature. You usually get to see it when spring arrives.
If ever you get the chance to visit this place, there are so many adventurous things to do. Known as the location of a number of highest mountains in the world, one thing you should experience here is climb the mountain of Jotunheimen. When translated in English, it just says "home of the giants."
The reason why it got its name is its height. Standing at 2,500 m, the mountain is considered to have the tallest peak in the whole country of Norway. If ever you climb to its peak, you will also see plenty of Norway's hotspots such as the glaciers as well as enormous lakes. Usually, traveling towards the peak of this mountain lasts for a few days especially when the pack is not used to such journey. As such, it can be better to bring emergency food, enough clothes, water, flashlight, radio and batteries, wireless weather forecaster, and other useful gadgets. This act is only to make sure that you come back safe and alive.

We have all heard of the fairytale called Little Mermaid. It has become such a popular story that Disney even made a blockbuster cartoon movie out of it. But, did you know that the distinct statue of this half-woman, half-fish can be found in Langelinie, in Denmark's capital of Copenhagen.
This is really a popular tourist destination in the whole of Europe. Each year, more than a million people go to this destination just to take a good look at this popular statue. The statue was built by Edvard Eriksen in the year 1913, and it became like the distinct symbol of the Scandinavian country. Locals believed that there was a true mermaid who sat on the same rock where the statue is now placed. She used to sit there because she dreamed of leaving her world to seek her Prince.
Its historical significance can be compared to New York's Statue of Liberty or Italy's Leaning Tower of Pisa. These landmarks serve as symbols for countries they represent. Proof of its popularity are the numerous t-shirts, caps, and other souvenier items made with the statue's picture imprinted on it.

If you happen to be in Iceland in the middle of this year, do not be in such a hurry to head home. You might miss the major cultural festival that is being celebrated in the country for over three decades already. Yes, I am talking about the Reykjavik Arts Festival.
Sounds funny? Well, contrary to what you might be thinking, the Reykjavik Arts Festival is serious, but interesting enough to be worth getting excited about. The Reykjavik Arts Festival is being held every second week of May until the first week of June each year. Art and film enthusiasts would surely have a grand time getting familiar with more than about thirty artists from both Europe and the United States. Imagine, rubbing elbows with those people!
The two weeks of Reykjavik Arts Festival is packed with activities. Every year, there is a theme or a tribute to a chosen artist. Last 2005, the exhibitions of the main program featured Dieter Roth who is a Swiss artist and resided in Iceland for a long time. There are also concerts and musical performances by artists invited from different parts of the globe. So, when you are in Iceland during that period, expect a lot of dancing and singing, coupled with display and viewings of contemporary visuals. After all, what good is an arts festival without good food, good music, and good inspiration?

I first saw a sample of luge runs in one of today's hit reality shows, the Amazing Race. I think the competitors then were in Canada, and already nearing their final destinations in the United States when they were given the choice to ride the luge as part of the challenge. Although it seemed that luge runs were uncomfortable because only two people were allowed to board this small ride, the rush and adrenaline the contestants got looked worthy enough to experience it.
Little did I know that the luge can also be found in Norway, specifically in Lillehammer. The place of Lillehammer is one of the tourist attractions in Scandinavia. What I personally like about the place is their array of winter sports and activities for both the locals and the foreigners. Of course, luge runs are a part of these activities. Lillehammer offers luge tracks and special luge for tourists and groups of at least five people. These luges can obtain speeds until seventy kilometers per hour. Whew, that is fast, don't you think so? Since these luge runs require people to bear the whoosh through the snow and to squeeze in one tiny ride, no children below seven years of age are allowed.

Sure a tour around Iceland is an adventure in itself but don't you think it's far more adventurous if you do your own tour? A road trip perhaps? I think it's the best way to really explore the country. You handle your own time, your own pace, and you're your own travel guide. There's a Nature Power tour in Iceland that lasts for 7 days, and 6 nights.
The departure date is on April 1 until October 31, 2006. See? Your own choice of date! You'll be going around the Iceland glaciers, waterfalls, geysers, and hot springs. I would like to see the Gullfoss waterfalls. It's one of the most fascinating waterfalls in the world. There are also lava formations and geothermal Blue Lagoon waters. Everything is all about nature, so if you're into the nature trip, go for the ultimate Iceland road trip!

Being the host of the most cherished 1994 Winter Olympic Games, Lillehammer is definitely winter sports heaven! The town is a quintessential Scandinavian resort, lined with wooden establishments crawling up the serene mountain chains. The town center is crowded with people sight-seeing, dining, and shopping for Nordic handicrafts.
A famous alpine skiing resort, Hafjell, is located near the municipality of Oyer. The oldest paddle steamer can also be found in Lillehammer. For all ski and snowboard enthusiasts, this is definitely the place to be in.

Your can't say you've truly visited Iceland until you've seen the been on the largest ice cap in this European country. There are several companies organizing glacier tours. The travel on the glacier is mostly by jeep.
Once you get there, you can have fun riding snow scooters on the glacier. Don't think that a glacier tour is limited to just visiting Iceland's ice caps. There are numerous activities that comes in a glacier tour including river rafting and fun boat rides. You will also be visiting some of Iceland's pcituresque waterfalls.

Denmark has a very unique collection of art, and fun collections like chocolates, toys and many collectible items. If you're visiting Denmark, Copenhagen museums offer free admissions on selected days, these museums are the National Museum and Statens Museum for Kunst.
Children and adolescents who are 18 and below could also enter the Danish state-supported museums for free. Although in some cases, when there are special exhibits, there would be an entrance fee.
